Caution: Parking Enforcement Returns to the Bay Area!
As restrictions are eased across most Bay Area counties, parking enforcement is returning! Those of us who have gotten used to the relaxed rules over the last few months will need to be extra careful, and make sure to triple check street signage and city websites.
- San Francisco street cleaning enforcement began June 15th, but the city is easing in by handing out warnings temporarily. Parking time restriction enforcement is not yet in force, and meter rates continue to be low.
- Oakland parking meter enforcement begins July 6th, with one courtesy warning. Time-limited, residential permit parking and street sweeping are not yet enforced.
- Berkeley according to the latest notice is still refraining from ticketing for parking meters, time-limited or residential permit parking. However the city is citing for street sweeping and those violations which impact access to services.
